WACO Products, Inc. environmental products are installed in municipal water and wastewater systems. Slide gates and weir gates isolate equipment for maintenance and balance flow between parallel process tanks. Other WACO products such as debris baskets and bar screens are utilized in pump stations as well as treatment plants.
Aluminum is a natural material for use around water. It is resistant to corrosion, lightweight and strong, and uniquely versatile in extruded shapes. Requiring little maintenance, WACO environmental products can be used throughout your treatment system safely and economically.

Slide Gates
WACO slide gates are used extensively within treatment plants to control the flow of water into tanks or through channels and troughs. Standard gates feature 1/4 in. thick aluminum slide plates and handwheel or electric motor operators. Poly-Glide ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) polymer bearing bars integrated into the extruded frames minimize friction and greatly reduce operating force required to open the gate. Neoprene P-seals may be provided to reduce leakage.
The WACO slide gate may be configured for embedment in a concrete channel, mounting to the walls of an existing channel, or mounting at a port or trough opening into a tank. For particularly corrosive applications, slide gates may be fabricated from 300 series stainless steel.

Weir Gates
For control of flow through a port opening and to balance flow through parallel systems, the WACO weir gate is the answer. The weir gate opens by lowering its slide plate, allowing water to cascade over the top edge. By adjusting the height of the slide plate, the water level upstream can be controlled. WACO weir gates feature handwheel or electric operators, 1/4 in. thick reinforced slide plates, and wall-mounted extruded frames.

Vertical Ladders
WACO aluminum vertical ladders give access into underground pump stations and work areas. Non-slip rungs provide good grip for hands and feet. A variety of safety harness systems can be included to protect workers from falls. When accessed through a manhole or hatch, safety extensions provide secure handholds when exiting the top of the ladder.

Barscreens
WACO influent barscreens intercept coarse loading and debris at treatment plant headworks to protect downstream equipment. Available in aluminum or stainless steel, bar spacing can be adjusted to suit your requirements. Accumulated material is manually removed with a companion barscreen rake.

Debris Baskets
WACO debris baskets are standard features at pumping station installations to protect lift pumps from rubbish and large objects. Available with either coarse or fine openings, the debris baskets are raised and emptied with a mechanical hoist as required. Extruded guide channels, which can also double as access ladders, keep the debris basket aligned with the influent opening. Corrosion resistant aluminum construction ensures minimum maintenance.

Stop Gates
WACO stop gates economically control flow through a channel or port opening. Hand lift operation is facilitated by handles or handgrip openings. The extruded frames may be embedded within a channel wall, surface mounted to an existing channel wall, or wall mounted at a port or channel opening. Optional Poly-Glide UHMW bearing inserts reduce the force required to open the gate.
Aside from providing shutoff, special stop plates can be supplied with V-notch, rectangular, proportional, or other weiring cutouts to allow measurement of water flow.

Stop Logs
WACO stop logs and frames are used to shut off flow through channels. Duralite extruded stop logs have integral reinforcement to withstand hydrostatic loads. Duralite stop logs are available individually or preassembled in 8in. increments of height. Neoprene seals between logs and around the perimeter minimize leakage.
